Free Lunch Friday - 'Communities: A Sense of Belonging'
Free Lunch Friday
Always believed there is no such thing as a free lunch? Think again! On a regular basis a group of community members comes together on Friday at The Base Library to work on their own projects... together.
“Free Lunch Friday” is not necessarily about working with others on one and the same project together, it’s more about working on your own projects with other people around you and in different surroundings, sharing ideas and sharing knowledge. Each “Free Lunch Friday” will be topped off with an inspiring lecture or brainstorm session on a topic of interest.
Communities – a sense of belonging
A sense of belonging to a greater community is said to improve one’s motivation, health, and happiness. But what makes a strong community? Is it location, interest or profession that brings people together? Do communities need strong leaders? Or should power be equally divided? Does diversity make a community stronger.... or weaker? This Free Lunch Friday we will be discussing the power of communities with members of the Schiphol Community and community professionals from the area.
